The physical structure of a pouch determines how it stands on a retail shelf. The standard Stand-Up Pouch (Doypack) features a rounded bottom gusset that expands when filled with product, allowing it to stand upright independently. For premium products like whole bean coffee or loose-leaf tea, we recommend Flat Bottom Box Pouches. These feature a flat, square base and side gussets, creating a box-like structure that offers five distinct flat panels for maximum graphic branding and exceptional shelf stability.
Certain products require specialized hardware integration. Freshly roasted coffee beans actively emit carbon dioxide gas for weeks after roasting, which can cause completely sealed bags to balloon and burst. We install integrated one-way degassing valves that release internal gas pressure while physically preventing external oxygen from entering and staling the beans. Additionally, we integrate press-to-close zippers and heat-sealable tear notches, allowing the end consumer to open the pouch easily without scissors and re-seal it securely multiple times.
