Review a curated selection of our commercial manufacturing projects, demonstrating precise structural engineering and flawless printing.
In the highly competitive luxury cosmetics and skincare market, physical packaging acts as the primary visual and tactile indicator of formulation quality. Consumers inherently trust a serum housed in a meticulously crafted, heavy box over one in a flimsy, poorly printed carton. Pak CustomBox specializes in engineering uncompromising cosmetic packaging that seamlessly blends regulatory micro-typography compliance with extravagant surface embellishments.
The Challenge: A botanical skincare brand was launching a $120 facial serum housed in a heavy 30ml frosted glass dropper bottle. Their previous manufacturer supplied standard 16pt straight-tuck folding cartons. During retail handling, the immense weight of the glass bottle was causing the bottom tuck-flaps to pop open, sending the expensive glass crashing onto the pharmacy floor.
The Engineering Solution: We completely re-engineered the carton's structural base, upgrading from a straight-tuck to a Crash-Lock Auto-Bottom. This design features pre-glued, interlocking flaps that create a structurally rigid floor capable of supporting immense vertical weight. Furthermore, we upgraded the material to a rigid 24pt SBS paperboard and engineered an internal folded platform insert. This insert suspended the glass bottle in the exact center of the box, creating an air-cushion crush zone that absorbed drop impacts before they could reach the glass.
The Challenge: A premium men's grooming brand wanted to disrupt the crowded retail shelf, which was dominated by standard glossy black boxes. They needed a box that commanded attention through touch, not just sight, without relying on excessively bright colors.
The Engineering Solution: We utilized 18pt SBS board printed with a rich, saturated 'true black' CMYK ink formula (C40, M30, Y30, K100). Over this, we applied an anti-scratch Velvet Soft-Touch lamination, giving the box a deep, light-absorbing matte finish that felt like smooth rubber. To create striking contrast, we applied a high-build Spot UV gloss varnish exclusively over their typography and geometric logo. Under retail lighting, the invisible glossy logo caught sharp reflections against the dead-matte background, creating an ultra-modern, masculine aesthetic that doubled their shelf-pull rate.
The Challenge: A Gen-Z focused makeup brand required packaging for a tiny lip tint tube (measuring only 0.75" by 3"). Their previous supplier could not achieve clean foil stamping; the foil was bleeding and filling in the tiny loops of their lowercase 'e' and 'a'.
The Engineering Solution: Miniature packaging requires micro-tooling. We utilized ultra-thin 14pt pliable SBS board to prevent the tiny flaps from springing open due to tension memory. Instead of cheap zinc dies, we CNC-machined a solid brass hot stamping die with microscopic edge tolerances. This allowed us to apply a brilliant holographic prism foil at high temperature and extreme pressure, achieving razor-sharp metallic typography on a surface area smaller than a postage stamp, with zero foil bleed.
Let's discuss how we can engineer a custom packaging solution that elevates your product's market positioning.
Start Your Project β Request Material SamplesHeavy glass jars require high caliper density to prevent the box walls from bowing outward or crushing when stacked. 24pt provides excellent rigidity while maintaining a smooth print surface.
It is a structural box base where the bottom flaps are pre-glued at the factory and interlock instantly when the box is opened, providing maximum strength for heavy glass items.
Standard matte removes the gloss but feels like regular smooth paper. Velvet Soft-Touch uses a specialized biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film that feels physically soft, similar to peach fuzz or smooth rubber.
